Mithali Raj T20 World Cup Selection Row: Sanjay Manjrekar Comes in Support of the Cricketer

Mithali Raj being axed from the T20 side during the match against England at the recently concluded World Cup 2018, has snowballed into a bigger incident and has turned into a controversy. So much that the contents of the email to the BCCI where the woman cricketer had accused Ramesh Powar and Diana Edulji for indifferent treatment got leaked into the media.  Now. Sanjay Manjrekar has come out in support of Mithali Raj and posted a tweet about how tough a week it is for the woman cricketer.

He went on to say that the contents of the mail should not have been leaked and Mithali is currently going through a lot. Sanjay Manjrekar wrote, “Feel really sorry for Mithali. Contents of her letter should not have come out. Mithali’s mail also stated that she felt depressed, defeated and let down. “I was taken aback by media reports today, obviously based on leaks, reporting the content of the email apparently written by Mithali Raj. I am not sure to whom the email was addressed though it remains a fact that the undersigned is a convener of the national women's selection committee and the concerned recipient(s) should immediately have copied the same to me," Choudhary said in an email to Johri and Karim.
