Mithali Raj recently led the Indian women’s cricket team during the three-match series against South Africa. The Women in Blue registered a 3-0 victory against the team. The Indian women’s team won the last ODI by six runs and this also marked 20 years of Mithali’s cricketing career. Needless to say that the Indian captain was on cloud nine not only for the series win but also for ruling the international women’s cricket for twenty years. So here’s exactly what happened. A netizen took to social media and said that Mithali does not know how to speak in Tamil. “She doesn't know Tamil. She will speak in eng, Telugu, Hindi,” read the tweet by the fan. Little did the Internet user know that Mitali would have a befitting reply to the post. Mithali responded to the tweet and she wrote in Tamil a said that she knows the language and she is proud to be an Indian.

The series was a memorable one for Mithali as she became the first woman cricketer to play ODIs over a span of 20 years. The match also witnessed Mithali’s 100th win as a captain.
