LSG Win By 18 Runs: That's It! Naman Dhir has played a fantastic knock but it was not enough in the end. Dhir started with a six in the last over with 34 runs needed but Krunal Pandya's effort at the boundary line meant Dhir had to go off strike and the ball was not capitalised on as well. Rohit Sharma and Naman Dhir were the only one's who could display some fight. Rest of it was the same for MI as they faced this season. Unfortunately, the win would mot be enough for LSG

A good finish from Ayush Badoni and it comes on the last over against Romario Shepherd. LSG lost a bit of momentum when they lost KL Rahul, Nicholas Pooran and Arshad Khan in quick succession but Krunal Pandya and Ayush Badoni made sure they reached a strong total. MI will be not happy to so concede more than they anticipated as their batting lineup has not performed to potential.

Only four matches remain in the IPL 2024 league stages and with three teams having locked their spot in the IPL 2024 playoffs, the race now is open for only one spot. In the next match of the competition, Mumbai Indians will host Lucknow Super Giants at their home, which will be their last game this season as well as last home game. LSG are mathematically alive in the competition, although their chances look far-fetched. Yet, they would want to control the controllables and finish with a win with big margins. Meanwhile, MI were knocked out of the playoff race sometime back and for them the challenge would be to put up a strong performance in front of the home crowd and make the ending special.  Rohit Sharma Meets 17-Year Old Nepal Mountaineer Nima Sherpa During Practice Session at the Wankhede Stadium Ahead of MI vs LSG IPL 2024 Match (See Post).

Mumbai Indians have not stepped up as a team in the entire season. Ishan Kishan fired at times but not received support from Rohit Sharma whose form has been really poor. Suryakumar Yadav's season has been hit and miss and Hardik Pandya found himself struggling most of the times. Tim David couldn't finish games and the cameos from Naman Dhir and Nehal Wadhera were not enough.  Tilak Varma has been their only consistent player. Bowling has tried their best with Nuwan Thushara, Gerald Coetzee supporting Jasprit Bumrah and Piyush Chawla coming in handy at right moments. MI would look to gear up their batting power one final time and end the season on a good note.  Ishan Kishan and Tim David Have Fun Time As They Wrestle During Practice Session Ahead of the MI vs LSG IPL 2024 Match (Watch Video).

LSG's batting has not stepped up in the last few games. They have went from Quinton de Kock to Arshin Kulkarni as KL Rahul's opening partner and back to having de Kock and yet failed to get a good start from the top. Nicholas Pooran, Ayush Badoni and Krunal Pandya didn't get the batting roles they would want and the entire batting unit has failed to fire. In the last game, despite playing an extra bowler, LSG conceded more than 200 and it was only Mohammad Arshad Khan's batting that kept them alive till the end. LSG would want the entire team to be expressive in a nothing to lose situation, which might bring out their best.
