Australian opener Marnus Labuschagne is having a great run in the Test format of the game. Now, the opener is all set to join Sir Don Bradman an elite list if he can score a century in the upcoming Boxing Day Test match which starts from tomorrow at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne. This will be the second game of the Trans-Tasman Trophy 2019-20. If the Australian opener is able to score one more century in the upcoming match, Labuschagne will join the likes of Don Bradman, Matthew Hayden and Steve Smith. He will be the sixth Australian batsman to score four successive centuries in four games. Talking about Sir Don Bradman, he achieved the feat thrice in his career whereas, Hayden, Smith, Jack Fingleton and Neil Harvey all did it once. He started off with the Test series against New Zealand with 143 runs and then followed it up yet another half-century in the second innings. He played a vital role in contributing to Australia's stunning win of 296 runs.
Marnus Labuschagne has so far played 12 Test matches for Australia and has scored 1103 runs at a brilliant average of 58.05. So far in 12 games, he has slammed three centuries and six fifties. Talking about the series, the three-match game now stands on 1-0 and the hosts would be looking to seal the series with a win. Whereas the Kiwis will look forward to even the Test match series with a win in the last game.
