India and New Zealand Women’s team have met seven times previously. White Ferns lead the head-to-head record with five wins from seven matches. In the last meeting between these two teams in T20Is, India emerged victorious, though they lost the series 1-2. The meeting took place in 2015 and since then Indian team have made improvements.

As far as the format of ICC Women’s World T20 2018 is concerned, top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals.
