The third Test match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground is on the verge of witnessing Indiaâs victory against Australia. Like day 2, the visitors dominated the game on the third day. Amidst the racist chant hurled at the Indian players and fans, Jasprit Bumrah snapped six crucial wickets and did not let the Aussies build a good partnership. The Indian pacer got the wickets of Marcus Harris, Nathan Lyon, Shaun Marsh, Travis Head, Josh Hazelwood and Tim Paine and this helped the visitors get the lead of 292 runs on the board. Needless to say, Bumrah went on to register his career-best figures as he gave away only 33 runs. Virat Kohli Hails Jasprit Bumrah for Snapping Six Wickets, Indian Captain Doffs his Cap During Day 3 India vs Australia 2018, MCG (See Pics).
The performance obviously impressed Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli hailed the feat by doffing his cap to Bumrah when the Indian team was walking back to the pavilion. The 25-year-old pacer became the only Asian bowler to get five wickets in South Africa, England and Australia in one calendar year. However, post this, the visitors did not impose a follow-on on the Aussies. The Indian decided to come down to bat and extend the lead. Sadly, India lost wickets early in the game. India has made a total of 54 runs after losing five wickets. It would be interesting to see how the day 4 unfolds for both teams.
