OUT! Another one goes down! This time Ishant Sharma strikes with a new ball. Poor shot selection from Travis Head. That was bowled wide outside off-stump. Head slashes hard at it, only to get an outside edge. It flies towards third-man and Shami takes the catch. Head c Shami b Ishant 58(80)

14 Dec, 14:32 (IST)

That's half-century up for Travis Head. Excellent knock from him once again. Head holds the key now, he is well-set and needs to make sure Australia go to stumps without further damage.

14 Dec, 14:26 (IST)

OUT! Hanuma Vihari strikes again. Australia have lost half the side now. Vihari breaks the 84-run stand. Shaun Marsh misses his half-century by five runs. He edges it to the lone slip. S Marsh c Rahane b Hanuma Vihari 45(98)

14 Dec, 13:54 (IST)

Head and Marsh take Australia past 200. The duo also completed fifty-run partnership, relatively quick, taking 82 deliveries. Aussie camp would need the two to continue the good work.

14 Dec, 13:38 (IST)

After getting off to a flying start that saw openers Finch and Khawaja share a 112-run opening partnership, Aussies lost the direction. Hosts lost four wickets in quick succession to hand the advantage back to the visitors. It will be interesting to see how Travis Head and Shaun Marsh take the Aussies innings forward.

14 Dec, 13:21 (IST)

India will be looking to scalp one more wicket here. Shaun Marsh holds the key for Australia, he has faced 40 deliveries so far. The left-hander needs to take bulk of the strike. Meanwhile, Travis Head has joined him in the middle.

14 Dec, 13:03 (IST)

OUT! Ishant Sharma strikes after the tea break. Superb catch by Virat Kohli  at second slip. Plucks it out of the air. Short ball does the trick as Australia lose their fourth wicket. Handscomb c Kohli b Ishant 7(16)

14 Dec, 12:36 (IST)

TEA BREAK | Good session this for India. Three important wickets came their way as they bounce back on the opening day of the Perth Test. Peter Handscomb and Shaun Marsh are at the crease and have a repair job to do.

14 Dec, 12:24 (IST)

Brilliant stuff this from India. Bowlers have been impressive in the second session. After Bumrah removed Finch, Umesh Yadav and Hanuma Vihari chip in with wickets of Usman Khawaja and Marcus Harris respectively. All of a sudden, India looks in command.

14 Dec, 11:51 (IST)

Good comeback by Indian bowlers after the unimpressive first session.  Jasprit Bumrah is bowling well after picking Aaron Finch's wicket. Meanwhile, Usman Khawaja, the new batsman in, is struggling.

14 Dec, 11:16 (IST)

OUT! Finally a breakthrough comes India's way. It is Jasprit Bumrah who strikes for the visitors. He traps Aaron Finch in front of the wickets. Finch, a couple of balls earlier scored his second Test fifty and now is back in the hutch. A Finch lbw b Bumrah 50(105).

14 Dec, 10:52 (IST)

That's half-century up for Marcus Harris, his maiden one. And it comes in second Test. There is a hundred out there for him, needs to get his down and focus on that. 50 off 90 balls for him.

14 Dec, 10:45 (IST)

Australia begin on a positive note after the lunch break. Aaron Finch has faced most deliveries after the break and has looked better. Meanwhile, India's search for first wicket continues.

14 Dec, 09:57 (IST)

LUNCH BREAK | That's the end of opening session on day one. It's a happy session for Australia. After opting to bat first, Australian opening pair of Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris responded positively. The duo has added unbeaten half-century stand. Finch is batting on 28 and Harris on 36.

Join us back for the second session.

14 Dec, 09:06 (IST)

That's half-century stand up between Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris. The openers have responded well after Australian captain decided to bat first on a wicket which has a tinge of grass on it. So far, Virat Kohli has used all his four pacers.

14 Dec, 08:46 (IST)

Good start this for Australia. The openers have collected seven boundaries between them. Harris has scored five of them and looks in great touch. Things so far going Australia's way.

14 Dec, 08:19 (IST)

Indian pacers have struggled with the line so far, mostly Ishant Sharma has been bit wayward at times. Meanwhile, Aaron Finch looks confident as he picks his second boundary. Marcus Harris is happy to take his time.

14 Dec, 08:01 (IST)

Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah start the proceedings for India. And for Australia, it is Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris at the crease. A boundary early on for Finch.
