The Indian cricket captain also went on to be the quickest batsman to score 4000 runs in India as he took only 72 innings to get to the mark. He went on to become the third batsman after Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni to achieve the record. Sachin Tendulkar took 92 innings whereas MS Dhoni took 100 innings respectively to reach the 4000 run mark.
