Shahid Afridi and Gautam Gambhir have been at loggerheads not just on the field but off it as well. On social media and on TV shows the duo always react strongly to each other's comments. Following the attack on CRPF in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama, infuriated Gautam Gambhir took to Twitter and wrote, “Yes, let’s talk with the separatists. Yes, let’s talk with Pakistan. But this time conversation can’t be on the table, it has to be in a battleground. Enough is enough.”
Gambhir also targeted Pakistan in his another tweet, “I have some news for Pakistan. We should continue their ‘MFN’ status. Only thing is, that this time we the civilians will decide what ‘F’ stands for,” he wrote. Meanwhile, a reporter asked former Pakistan all-rounder Afridi, who is currently participating in Pakistan Super League 2019 (PSL 2019) in Dubai, about his reaction on statements made by Gambhir. The former Pakistan captain replied by saying, “kya huwa usko” and when the reporter explained to him Gambhir’s statement, Afridi ignored and boarded the bus. On Thursday, February 14, 40 CRPF jawans were killed in the attack on CRPF convoy after an explosives-laden SUV rammed into a vehicle part of the convoy moving from Jammu to Srinagar. Jaish-e-Mohammad subsequently claimed the responsibility for the attack and named suicide bomber Adil Ahmed Dar, who belonged to the local village, behind the attack. The attack has sent shock waves across India with people protesting against Pakistan.
