KXIP vs RCB Highlights IPL 2020 Match 6: Kings XI Punjab Beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 97 Runs

Kings XI Punjab have won their first game of IPL 2020 at the second time of asking. KL Rahul's brilliant century took KXIP to a score of 206/3 in their twenty overs. Chasing a mammoth target proved to be overwhelming for RCB as they suffered a 97 run defeat as their batting line-up failed to make any kind of impression and were bowled out for 109 runs. With this win KXIP move to the top of the points table.

Bowled! Murugan Ashwin gets his second wicket of the game. Navdeep Saini gets clean bowled as he tries to heave the ball over the covers region but misses it completely. Navdeep Saini b Murugan Ashwin 6(7).

Wicket! Washington Sundar's fighting cameo finally comes to an end as he falls in Ravi Bishnoi's over. The young spinner gets his third wicket of the game. Sundar tried to clear the boundary but could only find Mayank Agarwal. Washington Sundar c Agarwal b Ravi Bishnoi 30(27).

Royal Challengers Bangalore have lost control of the game and the match is slipping from their hands. The required run-rate has crossed over 15. Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar are out on the crease for RCB and need to fund the boundaries on a regular interval if they are to take RCB to an unlikely win.

End of Powerplay! Royal Challengers Bangalore have found some momentum at the end of the power play. Ravi Bishnoiu came in to bowl his first over of the game but was put under immediate pressure by De Villers. 15 runs come off the over. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore are under serious pressure at the moment as they have lost three early wickets including captain Virat Kohli. Aaron Finch saves himself with a successful review after the umpire had given him out LBW. the onus will now be on the Australian and AB de Villiers to get RCB back in the game.

Kings XI Punjab are well and truly on top at the moment. Sheldon Cottrell gets his second wicket of the game as RCB skipper Virat Kohli falls prey to a shirt delivery from the West Indian. Kohli tries to pull over mid-on but finds Ravi Bishnoi. Kohli c Ravi Bishnoi b Cottrell 1(5).

23 runs from the last over! Kings Punjab power to 203/3 thanks to a mayhem by their skipper KL Rahul. The dasher also registers the highest score by an Indian batsman in IPL history. He scores 132 and goes pass Rishabh Pant who scored 128 in 2018. What a Knock by the skipper! RCB certainly need a special performance to chase this total.  

Hundred for KL Rahul! Sensational performance by the Kings XI Punjab captain. He unleashed an absolute mayhem against RCB bowlers and got the three-figure make. This is also the first ton registered in IPL 2020. He's not going to stop here. Rahul gathers 26 runs off Dale Steyn's over.

Meanwhile, Punjab have cross the 100-run mark in the 12th over. With nine wickets left in cabinet, the stage is set for late flourish. Fireworks coming up.

And KL Rahul has added another feather to his illustrious hat. The Kings XI Punjab skipper becomes the fastest Indian player to score 2000 IPL runs. He gets to milestone in his 60th innings and goes pass Sachin Tendulkar who got the feat in his 63rd innings.
