Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) team management was one of the most active teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Auctions this year. In order to bolster its squad, the KXIP management was betting their luck on almost every top-class players. However, the team lost out on most of them, due to the Right-to-Match (RTM) policy used by other franchises.

Nonetheless, after the auctions, KXIP still boasted one of the most dangerous sides in the IPL 2018. They were able to pouch Yuvraj Singh, Chris Gayle at bargain prices; however, KL Rahul was bagged for Rs. 11 crore -- one of the highest price tags in IPL Auctions 2018.

A look at KXIP’s squad for IPL 2018 gives an impression of a balanced team. Kings XI will begin their search for the maiden title on the second day of the IPL 2018. The KXIP will be up against Delhi Daredevils (DD) in their first IPL game, this year, in an away game. Kings XI will play their first two matches away from home. And on April 15, they will host Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their first home game. KXIP’s league stage ends with an away contest against the Super Kings.

Just like previous seasons, Kings XI will have two home venues- IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali and Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. Kings XI will play three matches in Indore and four in Mohali. Meanwhile, KXIP team is yet to name their captain and some of the names doing the rounds are Yuvraj Singh and Ravi Ashwin.
