Kuldeep Yadav spun his web during the 2nd India vs West Indies ODI and took his second hat-trick in One-day Internationals. The left-arm chinaman bowler achieved the feat in the 33rd over of the match and completely turned the match on India’s favour. Shai Hope, Jason Holder and Alazarri Joseph were the three batsmen who fell prey to the star spinner. It was the fifth hat-trick by an Indian bowler in ODIs. Wasim Akram, Saqlain Mushtaq, Trent Boult, Chaminda Vaas and now Kuldeep Yadav has joined the list of bowlers with two hat-tricks. Only Sri Lanka’s former pacer Lasith Malinga has taken three hat-tricks, the most in ODIs. Earlier in the match, the Windies batsmen rained boundaries and sixes for fun and the pitch seemed batting-friendly. The Kanpur-born cricketer wasn’t able to put up a significant show in the opening game of the series and many also questioned his place in the side. However, the bowler has certainly silenced his critics and India are looking all set to clinch the match.

Earlier in the day, riding on centuries by KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma and brief cameos by Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, India posted 387 runs in the first innings. In reply, the visitors got off to a good start but lost their way in the middle and their loos looks inevitable. On the other hand,  Virat Kohli and Co, who lost the first match by eight wickets are all set to level the series 1-1.
