Former Indian cricketer Jacob Martin met with a fateful accident in December last year, and has been on the ventilator support since. The life-threatening incident took place on December 28, where Martin hurt his lungs and liver in an unfortunate road accident. A slew of former Indian cricketers has come forward in support of the grieving family.

In another financial aid to the injured Jacob Martin, Indian cricketer Krunal Pandya has also come to their help in the dire situation. It is reportedly being said that the Indian player has offered a blank cheque for the family of Martin.

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly too came forward to help Martin’s family. While speaking to The Telegraph, Ganguly said, “Martin and I have been teammates, and I remember him as a quiet, introvert-type of person. While praying for Martin’s speedy recovery, I’d like his family to know that they don’t stand alone.”

Jacob Martin played for India from September 1999 to October 2001. Martin had made his debut in the Indian national cricket team under the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly. He played 10 ODIs for India, where he scored at an average of 22.57. In domestic cricket, Martin played for Railways and Baroda, till 2009.
