This is not the first Australia tour for KL Rahul. Rahul received his Test debut in Australia and scored century at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The 2018-19 tour didn't go too well for him and he injured himself in the 2020-21 tour. This time he will look to contribute significantly in India's victory after he had a successful outing against South Africa in late 2023. Rahul was initially supposed to play in the middle order or not make the final playing XI for the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. But with Rohit Sharma absent, a chance has opened up for him to once again lay the foundation of the innings at top. Rahul will definitely some good practice sessions if he needs to make a successful return to the opening slot.
