KL Rahul scored his first World Cup century as India faced Sri Lanka in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 (CWC 2019) match at Headingley Leeds. Meanwhile, Rahul was once again involved in a century-run stand with Rohit Sharma as the duo registered highest opening stand for India in the World Cup. India, thanks to to centuries from Rohit and Rahul, India chased down 265 with seven wickets in hand. With this win, India now moves to top of the CWC 2019 points table with 15 points. If South Africa beat Australia in the last round-robin then India will afce New Zealand in the first semi-final on July 09.
Before Rahul’s century, Rohit also registered his ton as he became the first batsman to score five centuries in a single edition of World Cup. Meanwhile, apart from this century, Rahul has scored two half-centuries as well.
