GT Win By 39 Runs | KKR vs GT Highlights of IPL 2025: Prasidh Krishna, Rashid Khan Help Gujarat Titans Secure Clinical Victory

While GT are currently at the top of the IPL 2025 points table with five wins and two losses after seven games, KKR are struggling with only three wins and four losses following same number of matches. While GT need the win to stay at the top, KKR need it to survive in the league stages.

That's It! Another forgettable performance from Kolkata Knight Riders and another clinical performance from Gujarat Titans. They have secured another victory and maintain their lead at the top of the table. This win came rather comfortably when GT tactfully executed all their plans and KKR were always chasing the game. They have questions to answer while GT cruise on.

21 Apr, 23:01 (IST)

Out! Double wickets and KKR are falling like a pack of cards here. Prasidh Krishna used his slower ones which gripped into the wicket and Ramandeep Singh first hit it into the hands of Prasidh and then Moeen Ali went down the ground to get caught in the deep. A disappointing performance once again from the KKR batting.  Moeen Ali c Shahrukh Khan b Prasidh 0(2) and Ramandeep Singh c and b Prasidh 1(2).

21 Apr, 22:54 (IST)

Out! Andre Russell departs after an agonizing attempt to get away Rashid Khan. Rashid has been troubling him with his pace and the sharp turn and Russell threw the kitchen sink at him, only to miss and get stumped by Jos Buttler. That is likely to be the end of hopes for KKR. Russell st Buttler b Rashid Khan 21(15).

21 Apr, 22:41 (IST)

Out! KKR are in big trouble here. They have not got off to a good start and it was Ajinkya Rahane who scored a fifty and was holding one end for them. But Venkatesh Iyer played a slow knock and got dismissed which further added the pressure. Washington Sundar made Rahane go for a big shot and get stumped while Sai Kishore trapped Venkatesh Iyer to go for a big shot.  Rahane st Buttler b Washington Sundar 50(36) and Venkatesh Iyer c Washington Sundar b Sai Kishore 14(19).

21 Apr, 22:26 (IST)

Gujarat Titans have bowled brilliantly since the dismissal of Sunil Narine and haven't gave anything to the Kolkata Knight Riders batters. KKR have fallen behind the required rate and they will have an uphill task in hand from here on.

21 Apr, 21:59 (IST)

Out! Sunil Narine falls to Rashid Khan. Gujarat Titans devised a new plan to close out the powerplay with Rashid Khan and Sunil Narine struck the first ball he faced from him to the hands of the square leg inside the circle. Superb captaincy from GT and they get a crucial brekathrough. Narine c Rahul Tewatia b Rashid Khan 17(13).

21 Apr, 21:38 (IST)

Out! Rahmanullah Gurbaz doesn't trouble the scorers for long. Mohammed Siraj makes a ball come in sharp and Gurbaz gets caught flush in-front of the wickets. Burns a DRS before finally leaving. KKR doesn't get a good start while GT are elated. Gurbaz lbw b Siraj 1(4).

21 Apr, 21:12 (IST)

A big last over and it was despite Vaibhav Arora finding some success with the yorkers. Jos Buttler was well-set and squeezed the ball twice to the point and deep cover boundary and then Shahrukh Khan got hold of a fulltoss from Vaibhav Arora. GT have set a strong total here with a strong finish and will hope their bowlers do the job for them.

21 Apr, 21:01 (IST)

Out! Shubman Gill will be gutted with himself. Vaibhav Arora bowled a fulltoss going for a yorker and it was at an awkward height for Gill and he timed it on the onside. Rinku Singh ran in and took a great catch in the end. Gill looked well set for a century here and he will be disappointed.  Shubman Gill c Rinku Singh b Vaibhav Arora 90(55).

21 Apr, 20:56 (IST)

Oh! KKR are in shambled here. They have dropped the big catch of Jos Buttler. Harshit Rana uses the change of pace and Jos Buttler throws the kitchen sink at it, doesn't get enough of it and the ball loops towards Vaibhav Arora. He doesn't pick the spin of the ball at mid on and drops the ball which goes for a boundary. Can prove to be costly here.

21 Apr, 20:34 (IST)

Out! Sai Sudharsan finally departs. Tries to cut an across the body ball from Andre Russell and gets an top edge which carried nicely to the wicketkeeper. Breakthrough for KKR, but Jos Buttler has came in and made his intent clear with consecutive three boundaries. GT are set for a big score here. Sai Sudharsan c Gurbaz b Russell 52(36).

21 Apr, 20:26 (IST)

Fifty! Now it is Shubman Gill's partner who completes his half-century. Have paced the innings beautifully like he has done throughout the season Sai Sudharsan and it was no different here. Never looked out of control and picked his gaps at ease to find the boundaries too.

21 Apr, 20:21 (IST)

Fifty! Shubman Gill returns to form in his former home ground. He has not taken much risk early and paced his innings comfortably to tick the scorecard and target the bowlers he wants. Completes His half-century comfortably and looking for a big innings here.

21 Apr, 20:16 (IST)

The Gujarat Titans openers has set a steady foundation for their batters to launch. KKR have failed to take any wickets in the first ten overs and both Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan look well set to launch. They have already targeted overs and fetched some runs. Now they will look to explode and take it further.

21 Apr, 19:57 (IST)

Without much risks, GT have found a steady start through their openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill. They are yet to lose any wickets and will look to accelerate now as they have survived the powerplay. KKR on the other hand, will want some wickets soon.

21 Apr, 19:48 (IST)

Gujarat Titans have started in their set template, getting hold of the surface first and then the occasional search for boundaries, keeping the scorecard ticking. They want to have a solid base before going hard and the plan has delivered till now with no loss of wickets.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Gujarat Titans Match Scorecard

Kolkata Knight Riders have been disappointing with the bat. Their new opening pair of Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine have not clicked together specially with the former playing just one good knock in seven innings. Narine has showed his glimpses but they have not been like 2024. Ajinkya Rahane has been the shining star for them scoring the bulk of the runs and he had support from Angkrish Raghuvanshi too but the much-rated middle order of Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell and Ramandeep Singh have not fired and their collapse in the last match chasing 112 against Punjab Kings has raised eyebrows. KKR will need their batting to deliver to have a chance.

Gujarat Titans on the other hand have a sorted-out system in place. They look upon their top three of Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler to deliver the runs while Sherfane Rutherford acts as the bridge between the middle and lower order. Once the lower order of Shahrukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia comes into play, they explode and GT get to a good score. Their spear as been the bowling attack with Prasidh Krishna in terrific form and Mohammed Siraj supporting him well. Although there are questions on Rashid Khan's form. Sai Kishore has nicely balanced things up.
