The Kolkata Knight Riders began their Indian Premier League 2024 campaign with back-to-back wins against the SunRisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals. KKR showcased a dominating batting display against DC and scored 272 runs while batting first. There campaign was hit by a loss against the Chennai Super Kings where the franchise didn't perform well with both bat and ball. However, KKR didn't take much time to return to the winning ways and defeated the Lucknow Super Giants by 8 wickets. Though, there winning momentum didn't last long as they lost against the Rajasthan Royals by 2 wickets. Knight Riders won their next match against RCB by a close margin of 1 run. In the very next match KKR were stunned by the Punjab Kings who chased down 262 runs with ease and won the match by 8 wickets. However since then, KKR were able to keep a winning momentum and won six matches on a trot, with their last two matches abandoned, the two time IPL champions topped the table and became the first team to make it to the playoffs.
