Kiran More, former India wicketkeeper-batsman, has been named as interim coach of the USA’s cricket team. The development comes after the resignation of head coach Pubudu Dassanayake. More already holds the charge of USA's director of cricket, which was assigned to him last month. The former cricketer will now be in charge of the senior team as well. Apart from him, former West Indies cricketer Kieran Powell has neem named as the high-performance manager. USA Cricket Board Announces Billion Dollar Partnership With Times Group and Willow TV to Develop Professional T20 League.

The duo of More and Powell will have the assistance of former India cricketers Pravin Amre and Sunil Joshi in the coaching staff. Apart from these, James Pamment, former fielding coach of Mumbai Indians, and David Saker, former Australia assistant coach, are also part of the support staff.

Reportedly, Dassanayake decided to step down from head coach’s position after his sour ties with the USA cricket board officials. Former Sri Lanka and Canada cricketer was appointed as the head coach of the USA senior men’s team in 2016. In a statement, Paraag Marathe, Chairman of USA Cricket, said, “I want to thank Pubudu for the work that he’s done over the past few years to help the team reach ODI status. He is an extremely accomplished coach and a person of great integrity and strong values and his contribution to USA Cricket is valued by us all.  He leaves USA Cricket at this time with our best wishes for the future.”
