And Pietersen's latest target on Twitter was none other than Pakistan pace legend Shoaib Akhtar. The two got engaged in a banter on the social media site over a picture shared by Akhtar to "inspire" the Pakistani team which is not having the best of times in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. It all started with Akhtar sharing an image which features him and Kevin Pietersen. Though the "Rawalpindi Express" shared the photo with an intention and message for the Pakistan cricket team, which will face England in the World Cup on Monday. "Blood, sweat, aggression, racing heartbeat, badmaashi. This is whats required when you represent your country. This star on your chest is your pride guys. Tagra khelo. Go get them. However, the image did not go down well with the former England bat. Pietersen replied to the image by tweeting, "Can’t argue with that tweet buddy as you’re celebrating after I smacked you all over for a 100...! Great passion! 😂". Earlier, the legendary fast bowler had come down heavily on Pakistan cricket team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed. In a video shared by the former pace star on his Youtube channel, Akhtar derided the Pakistan team's performance in their opening encounter in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 against West Indies. However, Akhtar reserved his harshest comments for skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and called him "the most unfit captain he has ever seen." Akhtar also questioned the team's selection policy and commented that the Pakistan team looked "absent from the ground" during the match against Windies at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
