In 23 overs, Karnataka were batting at 146/1 while chasing 253. KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal both surpassed half-centuries and were batting at 52* and 69* respectively when the rains affected the match at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Karnataka were well ahead of the par score and also better than Tamil Nadu in run-rate. Therefore, Karanataka were declared the winners of the Vijay Hazare 2019-20 final according to VJD method.
Earlier, Karnataka won the toss and elected to bowl first at their home ground. He became the first Karnataka bowler to take a hat-trick in Vijay Hazare tournament. Abhinav Mukund with 85 runs and Baba Aparajith with 66 runs played some brilliant knocks for Tamil Nadu, however, they could only reach 252 in 49.5 overs getting bowled out in the end. Later, Karnataka top-order batsmen were enough to put up a strong batting and win the match.
