South Africa cricket team has got a huge blow as their star pacer Kagiso Rabada has faced a one-match suspension and will not be participating in the fourth Test against England in Johannesburg. During the first day of the third Test match, the bowler was found guilty for Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and received one demerit point, resulting in his suspension. After dismissing English captain Joe Root in the opening game of the ongoing Test, Rabada looked pumped up and his aggressive celebration resulted in his suspension. According to ICC, the right-arm pacer violated Article 2.5 of the code which links to using language or gesture to provoke the batsmen after his dismissal during an international match.

This was Rabada’s fourth demerit point in the last two years and hence, will not participate in the upcoming encounter. Previously,  the speedster was handed one demerit point during the fifth ODI of India’s 2018 Tour of South Africa. While he got two demerit points during the second Test of Australia’s 2018 Tour of the rainbow nation.

Coming to the SA vs ENG third Test, Joe Root won the toss and elected to bat first. The visitors got off to a good start and crossed the 250-run mark by losing just for wickets. The ongoing series is perfectly poised at 1-1 which means a win in this game will give a lead to either side.
