Junaid Khan 'Protests' After Being Removed From Pakistan Squad for Cricket World Cup 2019, Puts Tape on His Mouth

In a post on Twitter, Junaid tweeted his photo in which he is seen having put black tape on his mouth. Apart from the photo, Junaid wrote, “I dont want to say anything. Truth is bitter. (Sach karwa hotha hai)”

Pakistan announced their final 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The selectors added Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz and Asif Ali to the squad in place of Junaid khan, Faheem Ashraf and Abid Ali. The trio removed from the squad were initially named in the preliminary squad. Junaid was picked in the playing XI for just two ODIs and on both the matches he picked a wicket each. Earlier, after Junaid was named in the preliminary squad, the pacer expressed gratitude. “Alhamdulillah greatful to Allah to be part of the world cup squad. Thank you to all those who supported and prayed for me. Always keep me in your prayers. Interestingly, during Pakistan’s successful ICC Champions Trophy campaign in 2017 it was Junaid who replaced Wahab in the playing XI after latter’s dismal show. Meanwhile, Wahab is expected to join the Pakistan squad on May 22 and will be available for Pakistan’s first warm-up match against Afghanistan.
