Joshua Poysden rolled back the years in a T20 match in English Domestic Cricket, on Wednesday, when he bowled a similar delivery to Shane Warne’s ‘ball of the century’ to Mike Gatting in a Test match, in 1993. The batsman’s reaction, too, were quite similar and the manner in which they were bowled, was quite an enjoyable watch.
Bowling for Birmingham Bears in the first innings of the match, Posyden bowled a magnificent delivery to dismiss Lancashire’s Steven Croft. The leg-spinner’s ball pitched the ball on the leg-stump line, and it zipped past through Croft’s defence and knocked off the off-stump.

Similarly, Shane Warne had bowled Mike Gatting in the Ashes series in 1993. And not to forget, it was Warne’s first ball in England, in his first Ashes Test.
Watch Shane Warne’s Ball of the Century to Dismiss Mike Gatting in 1993:
Talking about the Lancashire vs Birmingham Bears match, it was the latter that won the game comprehensively. In the first innings, the Lancashire team were bundled out for a paltry 102 runs. It was Oliver Hannon-Dalby’s brilliance that saw him pick four wickets (4-0-20-4) in the match. Posyden finished his quota with figures of 4-0-18-1.
In their reply, the Birmingham Bears team chased the total in only 15 overs. Ian Bell scored 34 runs, while Ed Pollock scored 36 runs. The team won the match by 7 wickets; however, it was Posyden’s unplayable delivery which was the highlight of the match.
