Delivering breathtaking spells or tweeting about future instances, Jofra Archer, somehow, manages to grab the limelight. However, on this occasion, the speedster has not grabbed the attention for a good reason but instead got bashed by the cricket fans for displaying lack of sportsman spirit during the 1st South Africa vs England Test in Centurion. During the penultimate over of Day 2, the right-arm pacer delivered two back to back beamers to Anrich Nortje and didn’t even apologise for it. The second delivery, however, was not called a no-ball despite being a clear beamer. Twitterati was distorted by the behaviour of the Barbadian-born cricketer and bashed him on social media. South Africa vs England Live Cricket Score, 1st Test 2019.
Archer, who made his international debut in May 2019, has made a sensational start to his career and is regarded as the next big thing for England cricket. His stakes were already high before his debut as the English Cricket Board (ECB) left no stones unturned in including the pacer in England’s 2019 World Cup squad. The right-arm pacer justified the decision and played a crucial role in guiding his side to the title. However, his behaviour was certainly not appreciated by the lovers of gentleman’s game and they schooled him.

Speaking of the match, Joe Root won the toss and elected to bat first. Riding on Quinton de Kock’s 95, the home side posted 284 runs before bundling the visitors out for 181 runs. At the end of Day 2’s play, the home side were batting at 72/4, taking a lead of 175 runs. So, the Proteas are certainly placed on the driver’s seat and England will need to put on an extraordinary performance in order to make a comeback.
