Rory Burns’ century in the first match of Ashes 2019 gave much-needed support to the England team as they 284 runs. The netizens praised the opener and hailed the England opener. New Zealand’s Jimmy Neesham also took to social media and praised Rory Burns, but in the process also poked fun at the Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli. Neesham took to social media and said that Burns now has more runs in his first innings of Ashes than his entire career in Ashes. Will Not Trade New Zealand Team for World, Says James Neesham.

The joke backfired badly on the Kiwi cricketer as he got subjected to trolls. There were Indian fans who defended Kohli and said things in return. They surely did not understand Neesham’s joke as we all are aware that Kohli has nothing to do with the Ashes. However, there were a few netizens who understood the joke and reacted with a few hilarious responses. Check out Neesham’s tweet below:

Hilarious.

This netizen seems to have understood the joke.

Funny.

Finally, Jimmy clears the air.

Rory Burns is still playing on the day three of the match and is batting on runs. The team has lost five wickets already. Joe Root is yet another man to have contributed in the first innings for England as they chase the total of 284 runs.  Ben Stokes also scored a half-century but couldn’t stay longer and made way to the pavilion. No other batsman from the side could go beyond the score of 18. As of now, Jonny Bairstow is currently playing with Burns on the score of six. Pat Cummins and James Pattinson snapped a couple of wickets each. Peter Siddle got a wicket. After winning the toss, Australia elected to bat first and lost early wickets. It was Steve Smith’s 144 runs that helped the team get to a total of 284.
