The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced that fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the upcoming three-match One-day International (ODI) series against Australia. The pacer has been rested for limited overs fixtures against New Zealand as well. Hyderabad fast bowler Mohammed Siraj will replace Bumrah in the squad for the Australia and New Zealand tour, read BCCI’s statement.
“Keeping in mind the work load of the bowler, it was best felt to give him adequate rest ahead of the home series against Australia,” BCCI’s statement further read. Meanwhile, BCCI has also drafted another fast bowler Siddarth Kaul into the squad for the three-match T20I series against New Zealand in February.
