BCCI wrote on Twitter, "Umesh Yadav replaces Jasprit Bumrah in India's Test squad. #TeamIndia fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has sustained a minor stress fracture in his lower back and has been ruled out of the upcoming Paytm Freedom Series for Gandhi-Mandela Trophy against South Africa". Bumrah was about to play his first Test series in India with India vs South Africa series 2019. Umesh, who replaces Bumrah, was part of India’s West Indies tour 2019 but he was not part of the playing 11 in any of the two Tests.
