Interestingly, Shami became the fastest Indian bowler to 100 wickets earlier this year during India’s tour of New Zealand. Martin Guptill was his 100th victim in ODIs. Apparently, Shami broke Pathan’s record at the time.
Meanwhile, India have already qualified for the World Cup 2019 semi-finals and are currently placed second on the CWC19 points table. The Virat Kohli-led side is most likely to face hosts England in the second semi-final on July 11.
