Believe it or not, England’s Jason Roy missed a T20 blast match for Surrey against Glamorgan after a self-inflicted injury. The incident took place following Roy’s dismissal during the match against Hampshire. Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman accounted for Roy’s wicket, who failed to open his account. Out of frustration, the 28-year-old threw his bat down in the dressing room and it, unfortunately, bounced back to hit his face. CPL 2018: Kieron Pollard’s Maiden T20 Century Hands St Lucia Stars First Win of the Season, Watch Video

"I'm extremely embarrassed and apologetic to my team-mates and fans for this moment of stupidity. Following my dismissal on Wednesday evening, I threw my bat into the ground purely out of self-frustration. It bounced, hit me, and as a result, I sustained the injury,” said Roy.

"I've never been so motivated and so positive about my game, and I assure you I will learn from my mistake as I am my own biggest critic," he added.

Chasing 184, Surrey managed to score 60 from five overs without loss of any wicket before heavens opened up. In Roy’s absence, Rory Burns opened the innings with Aaron Finch. Burns scored 14 while Finch smashed 16-ball 44. Both the openers apparently remained unbeaten.
