In the inaugural season of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Islamabad United emerged as champions. In 2017, last year, Peshawar Zalmi lifted the title. And now both the teams will battle it out for their second title in the final of PSL 2018. Either Islamabad or Peshawar will become the first team to lift the PSL trophy twice. It is a historic night for PSL, as the league for the first time will be played in Karachi. Since 2009, Karachi has not hosted any high profile game and the PSL 2018 final will be the first. Islamabad United made it to the finals directly after defeating Karachi Kings in the Qualifier. They finished table toppers after winning seven out of three matches. Meanwhile, the Men in Red will be without their captain Misbah ul Haq and JP Duminy will once again lead the side. For Islamabad, Luke Ronchi has been in top form and his side will be hoping to continue that.
Peshawar Zalmi, on the other hand, are facing injury concerns as well. Opener Tamil Iqbal has been ruled out of the final as well. The left-hander missed the second Eliminator against Karachi Kings. Andre Fletcher will once again open the batting for Zalmi’s. Just like Ronchi, Kamran Akmal has been instrumental in Zalmi’s success.
