India A have been accused of ball tampering during the first unofficial Test match against Australia A. On Day 4 of the India A vs Australia A 1st unofficial Test match, the hosts needed 86 more runs to win while chasing down 225 runs, however, the start of day's play began on a controversial note. Onfield umpires changed the ball which was used overnight by the visitors due to ball tampering allegations. The Indian players argued with the onfield umpire Shaun Craig as he handed over the ball to the India A players for resuming the proceedings. As reported by Indian Express, umpire Shaun Craig said on the stump mic, “When you scratch it, we change the ball. No more discussion, let’s play." Afterwards, the Indian players tried to argue further, Craig said, “No more discussion; let’s play. This is not a discussion.” Indian wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan didn't like umpire's call and considered it as a very 'stupid decision'. Ishan Kishan was cautioned for his dissent it is still very unclear that which Indian player was alleged for ball tampering. As per Cricket Australia's code of conduct, “Any action(s) likely to alter the condition of the ball which are not specifically permitted under Law 41.3.2 may be regarded as unfair."
The Australia A team led by Nathan McSweeney registered a brilliant seven-wicket victory over India A whereas McSweeney ended up playing an innings of 88* runs whereas Beau Webster was also unbeaten on 61 runs.
