Just two months after being excluded from BCCI's central contract list, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan have been given another chance to add their name back to the list. As per a report by the Times of India, Iyer and Kishan have been included in the list of 30-odd players who are part of a high-performance monitoring programme for the domestic season 2024-25. Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were excluded from BCCI's central contract list as they breached their policy of players prioritising domestic cricket if they are off national duty. Kishan has not played a single for the Indian team from November 2023 and pulled out from the Test series against England due to mental issues. Also, Iyer was excluded from India's Test squad for the last two Tests against England and had to join the Mumbai squad for the Ranji Trophy knockouts. A source said to the Times of India, "The BCCI, or the national selection committee has nothing against Iyer and Kishan. If they improve their attitude towards domestic cricket and turn out for their state teams (Mumbai and Jharkhand) in the forthcoming domestic season, there's every chance that their central contracts will be restored and they will be recalled into the Indian team, if they perform well. This is a signal to them that they are on the radar of the selectors."

Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer showcased average form in the Indian Premier League 2024 but weren't able to play even a single match-winning knock for their teams. Both the players played short little cameo innings, however, they both would have wanted to get back to form and find a place back in the Indian squad.
