Pakistan national cricket team's chances of making it to the Super Eight stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 suffered a massive blow after they lost to India by six runs. The bowlers had set up what could have been a comfortable victory as they bowled out India for just 119 runs in 19 overs. But Pakistan's batting let them down once again as they failed to chase down 120, falling short by six runs. This defeat has come after a surprise loss to the USA in their opening match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. So is Pakistan's T20 World Cup 2024 campaign as good as over? The Pakistan bowlers performed remarkably well in the match as they bowled out India for just 119 runs. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf took three wickets apiece, while Mohammad Amir got two as no Indian batter could score big, barring Rishabh Pant, who struck 42 runs off 31 balls. But their performance with the bat was massively disappointing as they lost the plot despite being in a position of advantage at 57/1 at the halfway mark. Can Pakistan Qualify for ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Super Eight Stage After Loss to India?

This is a million-dollar question at the moment to which every Pakistan national cricket team fan is seeking an answer. Pakistan are winless in two matches in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and have two more games remaining in the competition. Pakistan's next match is against Canada on June 11 and their group-stage run comes to an end when they lock horns with Ireland, a side which beat them in the recent past, on June 16. Needless to say, Pakistan need to win both matches to keep alive their Super Eight hopes.

Pakistan Super Eight Qualification Scenarios

Pakistan not only now need to win all two of their remaining matches but also would be required to win big and depend on other results. India and USA are currently undefeated in Group A with both sides having four points each. Pakistan, along with winning both their matches which would give them four points, would ideally want one of India or USA to lose both their remaining matches. India have USA and Canada to play in Group A. USA, apart from India, who they face on June 12, will have Ireland in their last match. It also has to be noted that another loss for Pakistan will spell the end of their campaign in ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
