In a tragic development, a make-up artist who was accompanying Irfan Pathan has died in the West Indies after he drowned in a swimming pool. The man, named Fayaz Ansari, hails from the Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh and had accompanied Pathan to the Caribbean islands where the former Indian cricketer is currently involved in commentary duties for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. According to a report in India Today NE, Ansari is said to have drowned in a swimming pool while he was having a bath, with news of the tragic development emerging on June 21. The report further adds that Irfan Pathan is making arrangements for Ansari's body to be flown back to India. His family will receive his body in Delhi. Ansari had met Pathan in Mumbai and the former India all-rounder subsequently had him on board as his personal make-up artist. He had followed the former cricketer-turned-commentator on several international trips.
The tragedy has expectedly left Ansari's family devastated. The report also states that he had gotten married just two months ago as revealed by his cousin Mohammed Ahmed. Just eight days before this tragic incident took place, Ansari had moved from Bijnor to Mumbai.
