After the all-time leading run-scorers list in Indian Premier League (IPL), here we are with ‘Most Wickets in IPL’ list. Just like the batsmen, there is a close contest between the bowlers as well. Lasith Malinga, who did not find any takers at this year’s auction, leads the bowling chart. Malinga has been instrumental in Mumbai Indians’ success in the past. The franchise did not bid for him this season. Malinga, however, will be seen in the Mumbai Indians camp but as a bowling mentor and not as a player. Just like batting records, Indians dominate the IPL bowling records as well. As many as seven bowlers out of ten on the 'Most Wickets' list are Indians.
Amit Mishra, who will play for Delhi Daredevils, is the second highest wicket-taker in the IPL and could overtake Malinga this season. Experienced campaigner and former Mumbai Indians’ spinner Harbhajan Singh takes the third spot. The spinner will play for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2018. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowler, Piyush Chawla occupies the fourth place.
Interestingly, Dwayne Bravo is the lone all-rounder who features on the list. Former Indian cricketers Ashish Nehra and Zaheer Khan are amongst the top ten wicket-takers in the IPL. The duo, however, has now retired from IPL as well.
