IPL Records: List of Highest Team Totals in Indian Premier League History
Here's the list of ten highest team totals in IPL history.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted mammoth 245 for six in the Indian Premier League 2018 (IPL 2018) match 44 against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the latter’s home venue. KKR’s 245 now happens to be the fourth-highest team total in IPL history. Apparently, it is the highest team total on IPL 2018 so far and looks like will stay that way. Meanwhile, KKR’s surpassed their highest team total of 222 for three scored in the inaugural match of IPL way back in 2008 when Brendon McCullum smashed 73-ball 158.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) continues to hold the record for highest team total in IPL with 263 for five scored against Pune Warriors India (PWI) in 2013. It was Chris Gayle who lifted RCB to such a big total with his unbeaten 175 off just 66 balls. It remains the highest individual score by a batsman in IPL. RCB not only holds the record of highest team total but also are second on the list with 248 for three Gujarat Lions (GL). Interestingly, both PWI and GL are no longer part of the IPL.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) occupy the third spot with 246 for five against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2010. Interestingly, Royals lost the game by just 23 runs after responding with 223 for five in their allotted 20 overs. Meanwhile, take a look at ten highest team totals in IPL history:
