The IPL 2018 will kick-start tomorrow in Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium where a few Bollywood celebs are expected to perform. Now, the stage is set for the grand opening ceremony as the preparations are already in full swing for the mega event. Yesterday, when the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians prepared for their first game at the Wankhede, a team of dancers rehearsed their steps for the opening ceremony.

Varun Dhawan will be seen grooving at the opening ceremony of the IPL 2018. Prior to Varun Dhawan, Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra were supposed to perform for the opening ceremony. However, Ranveer pulled out due to a shoulder injury and Parineeti Chopra is shooting for Namastey England so she couldn’t make it. A while ago we got hold of a picture from the stadium last evening.

Talking about the opening ceremony, only MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma will be present at the event as 4 teams will play their matches on the following day and it would obviously be very hectic for them to travel at their respective places. While talking about the same to a newspaper CK Khanna said, “We are aware that there are some logistical issues that have cropped up. It will be sorted at the earliest. I think captains will be called a day earlier and their portion will be shot and shown during the opening ceremony.”

All the eight skippers will be in the city on April 6, for the pre-IPL meeting of captains. It is said that the BCCI will record the ‘Spirit of Cricket’ pledge from the skippers, undertaken every year, and play it out in the opening ceremony the next day.
