The betting scandal is getting new twists and turns every day. A couple of days ago, little did we know that Arbaaz Khan’s name would be involved in the scam. The actor even confessed to the Thane police of being involved in betting for the last 6 years. Arbaaz Khan's name came up during the investigation with Sonu Jalan aka Sonu Malad. The betting racket was busted on May 15 and Sonu Jalan is said to be one of the top bookies of the country.

However, IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla says that neither the BCCI nor IPL has anything to do with the Arbaaz Khan’s case as the anti-corruption units of both the bodies can look into the matter. “The matter is with the police, we have nothing to do with it. Both BCCI & ICC have anti-corruption units, police can coordinate with them,” said Shukla. "Otherwise in these cases the Police wants to coordinate without anti-corruption unit. BCCI has its separate anti-corruption unit and ICC have their own too and they both look after the IPL matches,” he further added.

Arbaaz Khan even admitted to losing millions of rupees while betting on the matches. "If any Bollywood celebrity is involved in betting of IPL matches, nobody can sign on that. Maximum it will be tried under the gambling act, which has a small fine. But if that Bookie not Celebrity fixes any player then it is serious and then action will be taken on that matter," Neeraj Kumar, former head of BCCI Anti-Graft Unit, said.
