The Indian Premier League (IPL), Season 12, Auctions are going to take place on December 18, i.e. Tuesday. In the IPL Auction, every franchise has a specific limit on the amount of money that they can spend while signing on new players from the process. A lot of spending is done before and during the actual auction take place, at the time of IPL Trade Window. Also, players are released and replaced before the auctions, and that too, becomes a factor in determining the purse amount available with every franchise.

1. Kings XI Punjab

The Kings XI Punjab franchise released a pool of players comprising of Yuvraj Singh, Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Aaron Finch, and Mohit Sharma to name a few. They retained services of Chris Gayle, Mayank Agarwal, K L Rahul, and R Ashwin among many others.

At IPL 2019 Auction, Kings XI Punjab management will be sitting with the highest amount in their purse, i.e. Rs. 36.20 crores.

2. Delhi Daredevils Capitals

The Delhi Capitals franchise left out a lot of players like Gautam Gambhir, Jason Roy, Glenn Maxwell, and Mohammad Shami among many other players. However, they retained services of Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, Rishabh Pant, and Colin Munro to name a few.

3. Rajasthan Royals

The Rajasthan Royals franchise relieved their highest-priced buy, i.e. Jaydev Unadkat, ahead of the IPL 2019 Auctions. The team, however, decided to retain Steven Smith, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, and Jofra Archer among others for the upcoming IPL season.

Known to be conservative spenders, Rajasthan Royals went all guns blazing to acquire Jaydev Unadkat and Ben Stokes in the last elections. This year, they have Rs. 20.95 crores available in their salary purse.

4. Royal Challengers Bangalore

The Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise released Quinton de Kock, Brendon McCullum, Chris Woakes, and Corey Anderson to name a few. They retained services of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Parthiv Patel, and Yuzvendra Chahal, among others.

At 2019 IPL Auctions, the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise are permitted to spend Rs. 18.15 crores available with them.

5. Kolkata Knight Riders

The two-time IPL winners, Kolkata Knight Riders, left out Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Johnson, Vinay Kumar and a slew of other players. However, they retained Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa, Chris Lynn, Shubman Gill, and Nitish Rana among other star players.

The Shahrukh Khan co-owned franchise will be able to spend Rs. 15.20 crores to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.

6. Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indian acquired services of Quinton de Kock in the IPL Trade Window. They released Mustafizur Rahman, Pat Cummins, Akila Dananjaya, JP Duminy, Saurabh Tiwary and other players. They, however, retained their core group of players, i.e. Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya among many.

7. Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise released Shikhar Dhawan ahead of the IPL 12 Auctions. They also left out Wriddhiman Saha, Chris Jordan, Carlos Brathwaite, and Alex Hales along with other players. They, however, retained David Warner, Yusuf Pathan, Rashid Khan, Shakib Al Hasan, and Kane Williamson among others.

With one of the most settled sides on paper, Sunrisers Hyderabad will have Rs 9.70 crores to spend to bolster their squad for the IPL 2019 season.

8. Chennai Super Kings

The MS Dhoni-led side retained most of their players in the squad. They left out Mark Wood, Kanishk Seth, and Kshitiz Sharma from their team ahead of the IPL 2019 auctions. Players like MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Faf du Plessis, M Vijay, Shane Watson, and Ravindra Jadeja among others will be seen playing for the Chennai franchise.

The salary cap available for Chennai Super Kings at IPL 2019 Auctions will be of Rs. 8.40 crores.

A lot of high-profile players – Yuvraj Singh, Glenn Maxwell, Brendon McCullum, and Mitchell Starc – among others have been released by the franchises ahead of the IPL 12 Auctions.
