What a day it was at the IPL 2025 mega auction which saw records being broken and some unbelievable signings made by the franchises! Rishabh Pant hogged the spotlight on the day as he became the most expensive player in IPL history, with Lucknow Super Giants breaking the bank to sign him for a massive Rs 27 crore! Shreyas Iyer, who was earlier signed by Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore, was the second-most expensive player in IPL history. KL Rahul, another player on whom players had their eyes on, was acquired by Delhi Capitals for Rs 14 crore. Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh, two of India's top wicket-takers in T20I cricket, were signed by Punjab Kings for Rs 18 crore each. Kolkata Knight Riders, the defending champions, also made headlines by splashing Rs 23.75 crore on Venkatesh Iyer as they fended off some strong interest from Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Gujarat Titans got Jos Buttler pretty early on while Phil Salt headed to RCB. Trent Boult and Jofra Archer returned to their former franchises-Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, respectively. Towards the end of the day, it was Rasikh Salam Dar, who attracted eyeballs when the uncapped pacer was acquired by RCB for a massive sum of Rs 6 crore.

Suyash Sharma was signed by RCBÂ for Rs 2.6 crore. RCB, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians were involved in bidding for the leg-spinner. Suyash Sharma impressed for KKR in his first season in 2023.Â
Simarjeet Singh was signed by SRH for a sum of Rs 1.50 crore. Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad bid for the pacer before the latter signed him.Â
Yash Thakur goes to Punjab Kings for Rs 1.60 crore. Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings bid for the pacer but PBKS won the bidding war. Kartik Tyagi goes unsold.Â
Vaibhav Arora was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 1.80 crore. KKR and Rajasthan Royals and later Delhi Capitals also bid for the pacer who was one of the impressive performers last year in their title-winning campaign.Â
Mohit Sharma was signed by Delhi Capitals for a sum of Rs 2.2 crore. Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals were involved in a bidding war for the veteran pacer before DC managed to secure the player's services.Â
Akash Madhwal was signed by Rajasthan Royals for a sum of Rs 1.2 crore. Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals bid for the player before he was acquired by the latter.Â
Rasikh Dar was signed by RCB for Rs 6 crore. RCB and Sunrisers Hyderabad engaged in bidding war and later, Delhi Capitals entered the fray and opted to use an RTM. But they did not meet RCB's raised price of Rs 6 crore.Â
Robin Minz has been signed by Mumbai Indians for Rs 65 lakh. Gujarat Titans aquired Anuj Rawat for Rs 30 lakh while Aryan Juyal was sold to LSG for Rs 30 lakh. Upendra Yadav remains unsold.Â
Ashutosh Sharma was signed by Delhi Capitals for a sum of Rs 3.80 crore. The aggressive batsman had impressed last year for the Punjab Kings and he along with Shashank Singh had formed a deadly batting duo towards the death overs.Â
