The much-awaited bidding event is set to take place for the very first time outside of India--at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on December 19. Australia captain Pat Cummins became the most expensive player in the history of IPL when he was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 20.5 crore at the IPL 2024 auction. That auction also saw astronomical figures being spent on players with similar profiles with the likes of Cameron Green and Ben Stokes fetching Rs 17.50 crore and Rs 16.25 from Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings respectively.
