The postponement of ICC T20 World Cup 2020 has provided a definite window for Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL 2020). Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is keen to conduct the IPL 2020 between September and November. Earlier, it was reported that BCCI has earmarked September 26 to November 07 as the tentative schedule of IPL 2020 all set to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Now as per a latest report in Times of India, IPL 2020 could begin from September 19. Reportedly, Star Sports is not willing to forego Diwali weekend (November 14). However, BCCI, as per the report, has now decided to hold the IPL 2020 from September 19 instead of 26. The move will reduce the number of evening matches which will work in favour of the host broadcaster. Also, the night matches will have a start time of 07:30 pm Indian Standard Time (IST) which is 06:00 pm as per UAE time. BCCI Waiting for Government Approval for Conducting Indian Premier League 13.

BCCI is yet to announce the schedule of IPL 2020 and is expected to come out with some clarity once IPL Governing Council (GC) meeting is held. Meanwhile, BCCI has formally sought government’s approval to host IPL in UAE.
