Things for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 get started with the Player Auction on December 19, 2019. The IPL 2020 Player Auction will take place in Kolkata and 73 spots are available. A total of 971 players (including local and overseas) have registered for the IPL 2020 Player Auction.

The first list of registered players has been forwarded to all the franchises. The deadline for teams to shortlist the players is till 5:00 PM IST, December 09. Australian pacer Mitchell Starc has opted out of the IPL 2020 while Australian players like Glenn Maxwell, Chris Lynn, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood have registered for the auctions.
