Defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) have qualified for the Indian Premier League 2019 (IPL 2019) playoffs. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)are already out of contention and now Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) are in a race to secure one vacant spot in the playoffs. IPL 2019 Playoffs Scenarios: With DC and CSK Having Already Qualified for the Next Round, Here's How Two Teams Out of MI, SRH, RR, KKR, and KXIP Can Progress.

Currently, Sunrisers occupy fourth place on the IPL 2019 points table and have 12 points from 13 matches. As of now, they are better placed than other teams not just because of extra points but superior net run-rate as well. SRH have a match remaining against RCB and a win in that contest should help them qualify for the playoffs. Indian Premier League 2019 – Points Table.

Royals, on the other hand, have 11 points from 13 matches and if they win their remaining match against Delhi, they will end up with 13 points and will have to depend on other results to go through.

KKR and KXIP, who face-off tonight, are in a similar situation and have two matches left each with ten points in the kitty. If one of the two teams between KXIP and KKR end up winning both their remaining matches and SRH also win their last match, it will come down to net run-rate then. However, in their last matches, KXIP take on CSK while KKR face MI and both these are tough to beat. MI vs SRH Stat Highlights IPL 2019: Mumbai Indians Qualify for Playoffs After Super Over Win Against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

So, Sunrisers are better placed as they face a weaker team in their final match and have a decent run-rate as well. Royals, needless to say, are in difficult spot than rest.
