The first match will be held between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Soon after the opening games were announced, the official account of the RCB read, “A spicy south Indian Derby for starters - but we prefer the sweet sambar... The Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore have met twice last season with the Yellow Army winning both games. Dhoni’s men ultimately went on to win the tournament by beating Sunrisers Hyderabad. Talking about the IPL schedule, the matches are subjected to change keeping in mind the Lok Sabha election 2019. “This is still subject to the announcement of Lok Sabha 2019 election dates. Once the election dates are released we will address any issues with the first two weeks and also prepare a schedule for the remainder of the season working with the local authorities around the polling dates,” read the website of the Indian Premier League.
