The Delhi swashbuckling left-handed batsman Rishabh Pant has announced his arrival on the big stage. A splendid hundred of just 56 balls has proved the old belief that many had in this 20-year-old batsman. Though his innings included two run-outs where he could be blamed, the Delhi batsman more than made up for it by scoring the highest score in this IPL season.

More than the score card, it is the kind of bowlers he took to the cleaners. He hit Bhuvaneshwar Kumar for fours and sixes plenty, smashed Shakib over the fence and hit seamers with such contempt that it seemed he was hell-bent on revenge. Never before was Bhuvaneshwar hit for 26 runs in five balls. He remained not out and scored 128 of just 63 balls. Even Rashid Khan was not spared today.

Thanks to his innings, Delhi Daredevils managed a score of 187/5 despite a slow start. Delhi were 43-3 in 7.4 overs when Shreyas Iyer was run out after a poor call and ditch from Rishabh. He was even responsible largely for Harshal Patel's run out. But all of that doesn't matter now. Many will say that this is the coming of the age of the prodigal son. That he did it on his home ground is what makes it even more special. A knock to remember, both for the crowds as well the spectators at home and everywhere.
