IPL 2018 Opening Ceremony: Ranveer Singh to Charge Rs 5 Crore for his 15-Minute Performance?
The actor, reportedly, will perform at the IPL 2018 Opening Ceremony.
The 11th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) is around the corner. As fans wait in anticipation for IPL 2018, the teams are preparing for the season ahead. Also, the organisers are preparing for the opening ceremony which will be held in Mumbai on the first match day of IPL 2018 between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Like always Bollywood actors will be performing at the IPL 2018 opening ceremony. However, the list of performers has not been finalised yet, but Ranveer Singh's name is doing the rounds. The actor, reportedly, will perform at the IPL 2018 Opening Ceremony.
As per Hindustan Times report, Ranveer will be paid Rs 5 Crore for his 15-minute appearance. "He will be shaking a leg for about 15 minutes, but the organising team was always clear that they wanted Ranveer as a performer and that’s why he has been offered such a huge amount,” said a source who was quoted as saying by the daily.
"His appeal cuts across cities, age-groups and has an equally big fan following among men and women. That's why the organisers felt that he is the perfect fit for the performance at this year's IPL opening ceremony,” he added.
Only time will tell whether Ranveer will be performing at the IPL 2018 opening ceremony or not.
Interestingly, earlier this month, Committee of Administrators (CoA) reduced the budget of IPL 2018 opening to Rs 20 Crore. The CoA also directed BCCI to change to date and venue of the ceremony. It was later moved to April 07 instead of April 06. Also, the venue was changed from the Cricket Club of India (CCI) to Wankhede Stadium.
