During Mumbai Indians’ match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium, wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan sustained an injury on his face after a throw from fielder Hardik Pandya hit him near the eye. After being hit, Kishan was lying on the ground with pain and was then attended by the team’s medical staff before being taken off the field. Aditya Tare then replaced the 19-year-old as MI wicketkeeper for rest of the game.
Even though Pandya’s throw unintentionally hit Kishan on the face, the former took to Twitter and felt sorry. “Mera cutie pie. Sorry bhai! Stay strong,” Tweeted Pandya along with a picture of him and Kishan smiling after the match.
