'Universe Boss', Chris Gayle, announced his arrival in style against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League 2018 (IPL 2018). The left-hander playing for Kings XI Punjab slammed 63 off just 33 balls in his first outing for the franchise. However, before โ€˜Gayle Stormโ€™ took place CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo did something favourable for the hard-hitting opener. While walking past Gayle, Bravo, it appeared, informed his compatriot about the untied shoelaces. Gayle then signaled Bravo to tie them for him. Bravo didnโ€™t hesitate and went ahead to tie Gayleโ€™s shoelaces. The act not only caught cameramanโ€™s eye, but commentators also talked about it. Gayle playing his match of the IPL 2018 went berserk and smashed CSK bowlers to all parts of the crowd. During his knock, the left-hander notched his half-century off just 22 balls. Courtesy, Gayleโ€™s flamboyant knock, which included seven fours and four sixes, King XI posted 197 for seven in their quota of 20 overs.

Powered by MS Dhoniโ€™s unbeaten 44-ball 79, CSK came close of registering their third consecutive win in the IPL 2018. However, Super Kings lost the match by a close margin of four runs.

Meanwhile, KXIP will be happy with the fact that Gayle started on a positive note for them. Kings XI now take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mohali on April 19. The KXIP management will be hoping for a similar performance from Gayle.
