Team Chennai Super Kings has made a comeback in the IPL 2018 after being suspended for a couple of years and has the most dedicated fan following not only in Chennai but in other parts of India as well. At times even the supporters of the rival team are fans of the Thala and have always displayed their emotions. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Dhoni enjoys an unparalleled fan following.

Yesterday, at the Eden Gardens, when Chennai Super Kings played against the Kolkata Knight Riders, a fan broke the security cordon and ran to the dug where Dhoni was sitting and was engrossed in a discussion with his teammates. The security personnel followed the fan and escorted him. Not only Dhoni but also his teammates Murali Vijay were surprised by the gesture. The official handle of IPL shared the video with a caption, “Love unparalleled #VIVOIPL #KKRvCSK.”

This incident reminds us of IPL 2011, where an emotional fan ran into the field to touch Sourav Ganguly’s feet while he was on the crease playing his comeback innings. This was during the match between Deccan Chargers and Pune Warriors in Hyderabad. The security personnel followed the fan and took him off the ground.

Talking about the match yesterday, team Chennai Super Kings lost the match by 6 wickets against Kolkata Knight Riders. It was Shubham Gill and Dinesh Karthik’s crackling innings that led KKR to victory. With this, KKR moved to the third sport on the IPL 2018 Points Table with 10 points.
